The retiral benefits include contributions to the following:
- Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF): A social security scheme administered by the Government of India. Under this scheme, you contribute 12% of your basic pay, and an equal contribution is made by the employer, along with applicable administrative and EDLI (Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance) charges.
- National Pension System (NPS): NPS is a voluntary, defined-contribution retirement savings scheme designed to help you build a retirement corpus through systematic savings during your working years. It is available to all eligible employees in the age group of 18 and 70. Your contributions to NPS are eligible for tax exemptions under applicable laws.
The Flexi benefits are voluntary and can be customised based on your individual needs. You may choose to avail any, all, or none of the available components to claim tax exemptions on specific expenses. These options include:
- Academic Allowance
- Leave Travel Allowance (LTA)
- Child Education Allowance
- Hostel Expenditure Allowance
- Telecom Reimbursement
- Food Allowance (HDFC FoodPlus Card)
You can allocate a portion of your Special Allowance towards these flexi-benefit options, up to a specified limit. While the overall CTC (Cost to Company) remains unchanged, this distribution may affect the take-home salary, income tax deductions, and retiral contributions.

The Office of Learning Support (OLS) at Ashoka University was established with the vision to create an environment of equity, inclusivity, and diversity on campus. In addition to challenging the status quo in higher education regarding the inclusion of individuals with disabilities, both learning and physical, the Office serves as a central resource hub for specific-needs-related information and services. It also promotes a collaborative approach to implementing inclusive practices across the University.
The Office's core mission is to cultivate a sustainable campus culture that embraces disability as a form of diversity and learning differences as a matter of routine in everyday life.
